I am trying to install stand alone version of P6 on my laptop.While Installing,I am getting error message:Error creating Project Management Database..same next error message:Error creating Methodology Management Database.
For Database configuration..it gives me an error message:
Bad public user name or password.Database server Error:Login failed for user 'pubuser'.
Any suggestions,why is it so.

If you have Windows 7 with the necessary pre-requisites you might perform a fresh install on a virtual machine that will have the registry and the virtual machine free of registry entries and or hidden files that are preventing you to re-install P6.
You will be emulating a new machine that will need some virus protection software of its own, there are several available for free, I recommend AGV Antivirus, Google for it and download free version, it is as good as the full version.
You can create virtual PCs running XP as well as running Windows 7.
The good thing is that if it does not works you do not loose any data, and can re-try deleting and creating as many virtual machines as you wish.
Yes.I do have admin rights on my laptop.
If you already have Primavera installed and you are just trying to congure the database the username and password will depend on what you specified during installation of the database, if you left these as default then the values will depend on whether you are using the Oracle or SQL database.
Eg. In SQL the default username is 'pubuser' but in Oracle the username is pubprm$pm.
You also need to make sure you are using the correct database alias, driver type and connection string.
