How do you mergre 2 different projects into one project?

Guys,

So how do we merge 2 or more different project in a single project in P6? resourcing, cost account and other details will be encoded after the projects were merge.

Thanks in advance PP!

Hi Ruel,

Select all projects you want to merge then Open all at the same time.

On the WBS window, copy the WBS of the projects into the project you want to merges.

Hope this will help you.

Ruel,

If you are using P6,  We export the file (Project A) and import the file to Project B using update. This is dangerous if you have similar Activity ID, as it will overiwrite or update any activity with the same Activity ID.

First, you need to make sure that your Activity IDs are unique on both projects. second, use updae rather than creating a new project when importing the file.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi Ruel

In Asta Powerproject I would just copy and paste one project into the heirarcy file of the other.

All data would be copied with it - calendars, resources, costs etc.

Of course the main benefit of Powerproject is that is not based on any WBS so that may be a problem.

If you cannot do the same in P6 then that is another good reason for not bothering with it.

Best regards
