Hello everybody,

I would like to see a comparison of the current Oracle|Primavera (P6 v7, or R8 respectively) and Microsoft Project 2010.

Some of you might think 'OMG, not another one!' And I hear you! I understand that it all depends on what your intentions are. However, I am not asking for an evaluation! I would like to see a comparison of functionalities and the extend of those functionalities. Also, I am not so much interested in the fancy-hancy web application. I would like to focus on a comparison based on a wondows client, database...

Is there anything out there yet? Or is there something like that in the pipe somewhere? Where would I be able to get something like that!

I appreciate your input and contribution! Thank you very much! Have a great day!

Marcus

It is not merely about functionality lists, both have their own but most are dysfunctional. It is also about quality of functionality, even for those that are somewhat functional in these two packages.

That I can play baseball does not mean I am good at it.

Hi Macus,

these packages have very similar functionalities.

An advantage of P6 that may be clearly noticed is an ability to set more than one link between two activities.

Look at Scheduling Tools discussion at Planners & Schedulers & Project Control Professional LinkedIn Group.

If you really need extended functionality look at Spider Project.

Best Regards,

Vladimir
