Hi Naveen,

LOE activities have a predecessor and a successor and that means the Early Start of LOE acitvity is driven by its predecessor activity and the successor activity drives the Early Finish date of the LOE activity. Hence during Backpass calculations the floats and dates are calculated from these driving activities as we are following CPM method. The fact that LOE activities are used for meetings or any other purpose does not mean that LOE activities are not driven by other activities. LOE activities don't drive other activities related to it but they are themselves driven by their Predecessors and Successors. Hence they have float values and ES,EF & LS,LF dates.

Hope this clarifies your doubts :).

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Please do the following for Critical LOE bar,

In the Activities View, go to View, Bars.

2. Click Add.

3. Enter the following

Name: Remaining Critical Level of Effort

     Timescale: Remain Bar

Filter: Level of Effort and Critical based on Float

Create Filter for Total Float =0 and then do this by double clicking in the Filter column and marking checkboxes for Level of Effort and a user created filter based on Total Float.

Preview: Format the bar as desired. For example, select the next to last bar shape and the color red.

Critical Level of Effort bars will now appear Red.

Hope this helps.

LOE activities do not have constraints and are considered to be ongoing;some of the examples are reviews and meetings. LOE activity duration dependent on its predeccessor and successor actvities. So in bar chart area LOE activities do not show bars. So neither they are critical nor will be considered for levelling resources.
