Hi Sinan,

There is also an Excel File for P3. Under this File you can find the Resources Tab wherein Cost Account lies. You can find this Activity.xls from your installation of P3 under the folder RA. Are you using P3 and P6 in your current project?

Hi Paul,

You have to set first your SDK to ODBC. Go to your control panel=>Administrative Tools=>Data Sources(ODBC)....Click ODBC then click the TAb System DSN=>Add...then look for Software Development Kit...click it then Finish.

Your SDK will be shown then Configure it....put ODBC Name Primavera SDK..then OK.

When logging in to your P6...choose PMSDK as your database...then put your PC Name/PRIMAVERA as your Host Name and pmdb$primavera as your database name...Let me know.

Hi Jeff,

I have installed the SDK but the excel still does not continue when I click the Update Project List button... it shows the hour glass then a wait prompt. How many minutes will i have to wait for processing?

Hi Paul,

Install SDK first which you can find in your CD1. When you run SETUP...choose modify then you will find the option for SDK...choose SDK and follow instructions to complete your installation. let me know.

Hi Jeff,

I have a problem, After filling the WBS names and click the update project list button, the excel hang. I am using a P6 server, also my computer setting does not have Primavera SDK. The system DSN is Visual Fxo Pro database.

Could you please advise?

Hi Roozbeh,

As i have mentioned in my SDK GUIDE you will be needing;

1. Activity

2. Dictionary

3. WBS

What i used there is a compatible version for 6.x. I am using also version P6.v7. Many had requested under my thread and if you want it I can share it with you.

Hi Sinan,

First, delete those errors then go back to log in. Put your USERNAME and PASSWORD then click the arrow down button of PRIMAVERA SDK then thats the time to UPDATE PROJECT LIST then Select Project button.

If this will not be successful, remove your SDK to ODBC and you have two options either Add again and check if it will go through or install otherwise.

Dear Jeff,

I would like to inform you that my problem has been solved, the problem was that when I tried to configure SDK I was using "pmsdk$primavera" and I should use "pmdb$primavera"

Thank you Rodel for your solution

and thank you Jeff for trying to help me in this regard

Hi Sinan,

I don’t have the answer either why SDK is not configurable wherein all the steps and parameters were followed correctly. As I told you, the only solution i got before was when i formatted my PC. I think there’s a file causing this error that needed to be corrected. Perhaps some of our members here has the right solution not formatting a PC. But for others, the solution from other forums that i gave you, worked correctly.

Sinan,

What database are you using? Oracle or SQL? the configuration is different from 2 database. Can you also check on ODBC if Primavera SDK is installed? (Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Data Sources (ODBC)-> Double click and under System DSN you should found Primavera SDK Primavera Software Development Kit as shown below:

P6 SDK

When you double click it will show as below:

P6 SDK ODBC

If you be able to see those then SDK was installed correctly and should be able to configure SDK database.

Best Regards,

Rodel
