Thanks Mr Rodel..the link you have provided is the perfect solution to my query so i can compare the bars for the 3 schedules.
Ariel,
Baseline use planned date and not actual dates. Below link are some insights on how to set baseline for your reference
How to set Baseline- After revised the Schedule and to Post #2
this is in addition to post:
When i showed all the bars, I noticed that all the activity bars for the secondary baseline (which is the June 2010 updated schedule)starts as per the actual start date of the in-progress/completed activities or the early start for non-starting activities and uses the duration to calculate the finish date..
should be:
When i showed all the bars, I noticed that all the activity bars for the secondary baseline (which is the June 2010 updated schedule)starts as per the actual start date of the in-progress/completed activities or the early start for non-starting activities and uses the duration to calculate the finish date.thus the end date for the completed/in progress activities has been superseded..to make it clearer ill put it this way: say an activity originally has 6 days duration and actual start on june 7 2010 and actual finish is june 17 2010 ( 10 days due to some delays) the bar that will be shown is from june 7 to june 12, 2010 and not from june 7 to june 17 2010.that makes it shorter and contrary than what has happened in the actual...
How is this possible and how can I show the secondary baseline bars reflecting the "true bars" of the schedule on june 2010 update.
thanks
