Hi Shazia,

I can recommend Spider Project that is used for scheduling, cost engineering, and risk analysis. It is an integrated tool. But if it is the best for your needs depends on your requirements.

Spider Project creates project models basing on work quantities and corporate norms. From my point of view for construction industry it is necessary.

Best Regards,

Vladimir

Using different software for project scheduling, cost engineering and risk analysis is the poor approach for many reasons.

Looking around and adupt the same software as others are using is also not the best solution. If others are using Excel for everything it does not mean that you shall forget about proper scheduling, budgeting, and schedule risk analysis. Using more powerful tools creates competitive advantages.

The tool shall be sekected against your needs. Create a list of functions that are necessary for you and then estimate existing tools comparing their functionality with your requirements.

Best Regards,

Vladimir

Dear Shazia,

It depends on the size of project that you are working on. You might purchage an independent software or you can develop your Own.

My recommendations is to visit the local suppliers in your region and you will identify the softwares that the Contractors and Consultants are using.

In the USA, Pertmaster is used for Risk and Harddollar for Cost Control.

With kind regards,

Samer
