You need to change your Timescale to Day/Shift as date interval and select the Shift Calendar that you used (i.e. TA shift). You should be able to copy and paste to excel or use the report with same timescale saves to csv extension.

did you assign different resources for working in different shifts?
If yes, then receiving workload reports for resources of each shift you will get necessary information (though not correct).
It is very easy in Spider Project and I hope that not very hard in P6.
It is a pity that you work with P6. All your problems do not exist for Spider Project users.

I wanted to see the resource loading for the whole project in terms of shifts, ie day and night shift.
now when i am copying the resource assignment in the excel it is coming on the daily basis only...
so how to get the resource loading in terms of the total hrs for the shift wise....

If you assigned different resources to each shift then daily reports will show each shift assignments in hrs. Just create Resource Breakdown Structure grouping resource by shifts.
But you know that shift work simulation is not supported by P6. Did you find some workaround?
