Mr.Rodel,
Thanks a lot
Chandra,
SDK is can be selected when installing Primavera. If the first installation is not selected then Primavera allows you to modify selection and you can install only those not selected when installation was done. SDK sample is also available in Primavera CD.
Mr.Rodel,
Thanks for your reply. Where can I get SDK? Please be noted that I am using legal version of P6 version 7. Please advice & if possible send me a link.
Thanks in advance.
Chandra,
If you have 10 resources and only A5 needs to split then you need to use export to excel. Using Global change is not possible because it has different row in the table. If you know how to use SDK then it is easier to transfer resource data from different row on resource assignment table.
Mr.Rodel,
Thanks for your reply.
• Actually I have 10 resources in my schedule, namely A1, A2…....... A10.
• Most of the activities have more than 5 resources. Budgeted Quantities are assigned in all the resources.
• For example: Activity B1000 has 5 resources namely A1, A2, A3, A4 & A5 and their BQ’s are 100, 150, 200, 300 & 500 respectively.
• Now I need to split the resource A5 into two resources. That means I have to introduce two more new resources namely B1 & B2 and the BQ’s to be split as 60% & 40% respectively.
• So as you informed I have defined a UDF namely “Q1” and by global change I have copied the BQ of A5 into Q1.
• How can I transfer the Q1 to the BQ of B1 & B2. I tried and couldn’t, because the Q1 of A5 is same as the BQ of A5 and the BQ of B1 & B2 is same as BQ of B1 & B2 (that is “0”)- Please refer the “print screen”.
• I have some problems in importing & exporting, please advise me to how to do it in P6.
Thanks in advance.
Chandra,
To use Global change follow criteria stated below:
Select Subject Criteria:
Activity Resource Assignment
If
Where:
Resource ID Name equal [Pick the original resource]
Then:
Budgeted Labor Unit = Budgeted Labor Unit * 0.6
Else
Budgeted Labor Unit = Budgeted Labor Unit * 0.4
Note: If the new resource budgeted Labor Unit is not correct use export to excel with UDF define and use UDF value to calculate new resource labor unit and import it back.
Mr. Rodel
Thanks for your solution and as you suggested, we have defined Activity Resource Assignment UDF and transferred Budgeted labor units by global change. Then i have defined a new resource but i dont know how to transfer that UFD to resource(BQ) by globle change. Please advice.
Thanks in advance.
Chandra,
Define a new nonlabor resource. Then select all activities with previous assigned labor resource and highlight (You can use filter to make it easier to select) then click resource assignment icon on the right and select the new nonlabor created.
Export to Excel spreadsheet using resource assignment with the minimum following Fields: Activity ID, Activity Status, Resource Id, Roles ID, Cost Account, Budgeted Units, Remaining Units, At completion units. After exporting populate data base on the BOQ proportion mention then import back.
Alternatively you can define Activity Resource Assignment UDF and use global change to transfer Budgeted labor units and global change again using UDF define * factor that you mentioned.
