Mike,

Running primavera is still fairly manageable for me, but hiccups sometimes.

My real problem is with contractual obligation, that’s the headache part for me as I am still inexperience

Hi Lucas

Well done - congratulations - Now your problems really start when you try to run the thing - better apply for a season ticket to PP forum.

Best regards

Lucas,

If that happens when you block it then you can check Mcafee security list of block program and remove it from there. I believed it is also block in Firewall so better check the firewall setting and tick from exemption program list or remove block program list.

Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Firewall-> Exemption tab.

Mike,

IT is a piece of cake, IT is not a problem at all, I bet on Lucas, by Monday he will be dancing the Charleston. Don’t you get IT is a standalone installation, the most easy of all.

Charleston

Best Regards,

Rafael

Not to forgetthe bit about 64 bit operating systems. They need Oracle 11g, as stated below;

64-bit P6 installations require Oracle 11g to be installed on the system either before or after the P6 installation.

Depending on your installation scenario, you will need to make the following adjustments:

• If Oracle 11g is installed after P6, copy the ‘tnsnames.ora’ file from the Oracle XE directory to the Oracle 11g directory.

• If Oracle 11g is installed before P6, Oracle XE will become the default Oracle application. Edit the Oracle 11g ‘tnsnames.ora’ file to include the content from the Oracle XE ‘tnsnames.ora’ file.

You must change the Oracle path specified in Environment Variables to point to the Oracle 11g client rather than Oracle XE.

I’m using standalone.

For the configuration, I have no idea of the password and id. Where can I get that from ? I have already automatic start all options associated with oracle.

I cannot access the PM database but is able to start the MM databse.

My problem start when my Mcafee shows some warning message about oracle trying to access some folder in my program files, and I block it with my firewall. That’s the fire starter.

I hope my above info can help in understanding my situation better. Luckily i have the weekend o solve it

To instal a standalone of P6.7 on an Oracle DB the Admin Guide page 281 gives the following passwords and DB alias names;

• For Project Management the default users are ADMPRM$PM,

PRIVPRM$PM, PUBPRM$PM.

• The names of the default database aliases are ORAPMDB and

ORAMMDB.

I tried Pubuser when I first loaded 6.7 (You know how we never read manuals - because we know what we’re doing) seems that after i read the manual I found these new passwords and the like and it all worked as advertised.

Lucas,

Oracle stand-alone configuration:

Select or Create Alias:

Database alias: ORAPMDB

Driver type: Oracle

Configure ORACLE Connection:

Oracle Connection String: XE

Enter Public Login Information:

Database Alias: ORAPMDB

Username: admprm$pm

Password: (whatever you assigned when you installed the Oracle database)

Public group ID: 1

You can take it frome there. Good luck!

Lucas,

It means that your P6v7 using Oracle server and not SQL server (which ever can be selected during installation).

Are you using Standalone or Network Server Database?

To run configuration by default Start-> Programs-> Primavera-> Help & Utilities-> Database Configurations.

Hi Rodel,

Run the configuration and when it reached to username and password use pubuser for both. If successful then you can use Primavera again.

( Can i know who can I get this from ? )

Note: Check the Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services and locate for SQL Server Primavera. Check the status if Started, if not then double click and click start and make sure the setting is in Automatic. It might be failed to start on the startup of Computer.

(I’m using P6.7, I can’t find SQL Server Primavera. There’s a few name associated with Oracle, I have started them automatically but it still doesn’t solve the problem)

Kindly assist
