Hi Rodel,

I have asked our IT guy to check the installations disks for xerFileParser&Builder.xls. He found nowt and also found out via goggle that this file is on v6.2 disks whilst our disks are V6.0 even though we are on v6.2.1.

Does anyone have a copy they can send me pls?

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Oliver & Rodel.I have tried Oliver’s method and this is fiddly. Rodel talks about multiprojects. Although I want to import 300 projects, these will be created individually. So I am just looking for the ability to import multiple activities and 2 resources per project. Will xerFileParser&Builder.xls do this?

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

Using Export/Import Spreadsheet function of P6 is not capable of multiple projects but if you have excel SDK then you can use it to create multiple projects. Also another P6 tools that available is xerFileParser&Builder.xls. It allows you to read, modify and create multiple projects in one xer.

Importing from excel puts data into a specific project, i dont think you could have one import that populates multiple projects.

I think you might have to import each project one at a time (using a template with the correct field names), or altenatively import all data into one project then split out once its in P6.

Either way for 10,000 activities it wont take a massive amount of time.
