Link to other files

Rifky,

I recommend modifying the activity id of your current schedule to have a different activity id from other files. You can use crtl+r (replace command) to change the beginning letter of activity id.

Ex below:

Replace Cmd

Make sure that the cursor is in activity id column then click replace all.

Now you can filter all predecessor begin with "A" if other files activity id start with "A".

Rodel,

It happened when my boss asked me to do the simulation based on the latest information. So, I copied the file from the master file and made the simulation in my working folder, by adding more activities and changed some logic. Now, boss has agreed to use that "simulation" schedule and would like to integrate it into the master schedule.

My plan is to delete the OLD file from the master schedule and replace with the NEW one. The problem here is this OLD file has already some logic links to other files.

Based on your suggestion, I have to check and do the linking to my NEW file manually one by one, am I correct?

Please advise if what I did was correct and quite practical if I want to do the simulation in a separate file in the next future.

Thanks.

Rgds,

Rifky

Rifky,

If you use an intelligent Activity ID to each project to identify then you can use filter to predecessor or successor. If not and using same activity id then you have to do it manually.
