Thanks Mr. Rodel,
I got disappointed hearing its not possible to add more indicators. I think this should be an another thing in Kass suggestion list to Oracle.
Though adding BMP in header/footer is really a good idea to highlight indicators. Thanks for the help.
Kandarp
Kandarp,
1) No you cannot add additional indicator and limited to four.
2) You cannot have this indicator as a legend but you can create a BMP having this figure and color insert as a picture on header or footer to serve as a legend.
Fellas,
Trying my hands on hightlighting activities using indicator and got followign queires.
1. by default I am getting 4 different indicators. Can we create more userdefined? If yes, how?
2. Can we print these indicators in header or footer as a legend?
Cheers,
Kandarp
Thanks Rodel! Thats what I ended up doing, but thank you as well for the confirmation as what I was doing was correct. Thanks again and have a great one!
Best regards,
Kas
Kas,

It’s easy. Create Activity UDF indicator then show the define UDF column and pick the indicator you want to use. You can use ctrl+e (fill down command) for all same indicators that you need or if you have formula to fill that then use Global change. See sample report below.
Andrew,
Hi. I tried your method and it does highlight that activity, but it also zero outs everything on the scheule, so that isnt very useful when you want to bring attention to a particular activity. I will play around witht he User Defined Indicators and see what I can come up with. Are there any sections here on PP on working with the UDF to bring attention to an activity? Or is you guys have any steps, please present them. Thanks once again!!!
Best regards,
Kas
Thank you all for your comments and suggesstions. I will continue to probe P6 and make suggestions to Oracle about useful functions that could save us all time and give us greater functionality.
Until next time...have a great day!
Best regards,
Kas
Hi Andrew - welcome back to the forum we havent heard from you for a while.
Hi Kas
Thank you for demonstrating at least 2 useful functions that are not available in P6.

Kas,
For the highlight issue, filter the activity and in the bottom of the filter pop up select Highlight instead of the normal default which is replace. Use a code field or UDF.
The others hit the nail on the head for your mirroed activity
Andy
Hi Kas,
1) Unfortunately P6 dont have function of format row individually. I used users define indicator to some sort of highlighting activities. I placed it on the first column which triggers me that activity is special and have different indicator with meanings.
2) You can use LOE which is equivalent to hammock. You need to link SS from the start of activity and FF to finish activity. You can make multiple hammock for a meaningful report and create users define indicator like dashboard with equivalent Global change to update automatically.
Hi Kas
I can show you how thes things can be done in PowerProject so I suppose you can do the same in P6.
1. Any field in the spreadsheet section of the chart can be formatted independantly of all the others showing different fonts and backgrounds.
2. Creat a "Hammock" bar at the top of your chart - select the tasks/milestones and add them to the hammock. The hammock bars will shadow the main programme bars and reflect any changes. Beware of making changes to the hammock bars as this will be replicated in the main chart - especially if you delate a hammock task.
Best regards
