Did you install SDK also? If yes try to use it if working or not.
Note: SDK should be configuring the same as database. If oracle then configure using Oracle driver and if SQL then SDK should be configure using SQL driver.

Who installed P6v7 on your laptop? You need to un-installed the Oracle database and Oracle Server first before you can install SQL Server and SQL database or vise versa.

I believed that the database is using oracle and not SQL. PMDB normally used by SQL as default but IT or Admin who installed Primavera database can change it to different name. Try to configure your SDK to Oracle instead of SQL and it should work.
