MSP variance is ok.



we can use formula to calculate variance to our requirements(whatever may be the baseline).

Gary & Samer,

it is not possible in MS Project to select a specific baseline as the "default baseline" against which MSP would compare "Actual" to calculate a Variance.

Project overview’s Variance is always calculated between Actual Start / Finish and Baseline Start / Finish; where "Baseline" stands for "Initial Baseline" with no number (i.e. <> "Baseline1", ...

if you want to save a 2nd baseline and have it used in the Variance, you will have to save "Baseline" as "Baseline1" first, then save the current project as "Initial Baseline (no number)" again
