You need to install SDK from primavera disk.

Put the disk 1 in and run the exe file. Then choose to modify and hit next. You will have the option to install sdk there.

Once you installed SDK with pubuser name and password and it has been configured.

Then run the activity6 file if are on p6 and enable the macro in the spreadsheet.

Put in admin as username and password if your username and password are default for P6

Then hit the update project button. It will connect to PMDSDK and update the list.

The select the appropriate project and hit the Get... button

and update informaton in editable field without touching read only fields. Then hit the Set... buttons to update.

Hope this will help.

Mike,

Some values are related to other values; if you only copy a portion you might damage the database or make it invalid. A resource definition is tied to calendars. What if the calendar does not exists? What if calendar definitions are different but equal names?

If you change resources using existing resources there would be no issue but I believe here the intention is to bring resources from another job.

It is not as simple as copy and paste. I would not rely on software that allows you to do that. Remember by merely missing a line in the sequence you would induce great error. In order to do it appropriately a key field must be used.

Recommend you cross with magic marker this option in your screen.

You can write my name on an exel spreadsheet paste it and then tell me about my birthday, this day must be defined as a personal holiday. Well Poweproject is a cristal ball.

Rafael

Hi Kinnar

If you have any data in an excell column and the numbers line up with the activities on the chart you should be able to copy the excell data and paste it into the corresponding column in P6.

I do this all the time with PowerProject.

Hi Kinnar

Why not just copy / paste from excell to P6?

Hi Rafael

I use copy paste all the time between the Powerproject spreadsheet columns and Lotus 123 columns.

I have to ensure that the the two sets of coulmns line up precisely but after that it is routine.

If I change a set of data - such as resource hours totals - the underlying calendars allocated to the task remain unchanged.

Since most of my delay analysis work is done on lotus 123 (80%) then this facility is very useful.

Best regards
