Dear mukunda,

The 0.6m is not allowed as working space for 3-3.5 meters height wall. You can’t insulate the basement wall from outside. You need another solution!

The sequence of activities should be as follow for the other three sides,

Retaing wall construction of Building 1

Water proofing to retaingwall 1

-->Block masonry to protect the water proofing

-->Compacted Fill in layers @250-300mm.

Retaining wall construction 2

With kind regards,

Samer

I am also doing the same type of project. We got the Raft Botttom difference between the Buildings 1.5m. Retaining wall construction procedures we following is as follows.

Retaing wall construction of Building 1

Water proofing to retaingwall 1

Block masonry to fill the gap

Water proofing to Block masonry

Retaining wall construction 2

This is what we are following.....

Cheers

Dear Vrinda,

One more issue that you have to solve is the insulation of the Basement walls below slab. The areas between the two buildings is 0.6m, can you lower your team and insulate the walls with Bitumin Rolls and then protection the insulation with protection boards and single size material or not.

It would be good information to know what your design drawings are proposing. And if you can construct it or not.

With kind regards,

Samer

Dear Vrinda,

You can also mention the following:

1. Issue letters to all the service companies to identify the underground services available in the neighbourhood.

2. You have to make sure that the insurance covers the adjacent buildings as well in addition to any piping and cables underneath.

3. Underground footings of adjacent buildings. You might have to provide solution to situations that you might encounter.

4. Traffic restrictions. Can your loaders and pumps arrive at site work 24/7.

5. Do you have an movement joint between the two buildings and how did you include the treatment and cover in the scope of work.

6. Disturbances to adjacent tenents. Do you have a sensitive operation next to your building like a Hotel or Hospital. People need to sleep at night.

7. Do you have another Contractor at the same site? Are you going to share the working space, etc.

8. How fast can you install your Tower cranes and how far is the laydown area.

9. Safety and Health Plan. Make sure that it is reviewed by a professional.

10. Get to know the site restrictions by inviting experienced supervisors to provide their input.

With kind regards,

Samer

3. Noise & dust restrictions.

4. Access & delivery restrictions.

5. Scaffolding space
