You need to assign resource to generate curve.

Yes just a copy paste technique.

Zq qz 👤 Member for 23 years

sTEPS:

1- Open a PROJECT

2- cLICK ACTIVITY RESOURCE SPREADSHEETS MENU.

3- cOSTUMISE DATA YOU WANT TO PRPARE BY MODIFYING THE SPREADSHEET FIELD.

4- cOPY TO EXCEL.

5- GENERATE GRAPH.

Hi Marie,

Kabayan, kumusta?

Can you please tell us how to easily do it in P6? Would you mind to share how you do it in P6?

Z
Zq qz 👤 Member for 23 years

Why you need to do this in MS access. P6 can do all this things... its double work....just make it simple.

Dear D,

I am still waiting for your program for evaluation. I am also currently making a SCurve and have problems generating the late finish curves properly since the float and the links are not yet finalize. Maybe your program can be a great help in simplying things. My email is [email protected] and is currently working for a project in UAE.

Ronnie

Dear Artagnan,

Further to my previous post, I tried Access and Excel files in another computer but still no luck..!!!

I am able to load P6 data in Access file but when I run "update activitie" macro gives the error no -2950 and give message "ODBC -- connection to "l" failed". So data in the excel file is not being updated!! What could be the reason??

I am using P6.1 and Office Enterprise 2007 on XP-SP3.

Thanks in advance.

Mike,

Thanks. It’s been such a pleasure exchanging emails with a lot of planning guys here. I’ve received emails more than replies here in the thread, as a matter of fact. Most of them were able to run it, however, some were not, unfortunately. Thanks Mike, again.

To Dennis,

Please give me a screenshot of a curve and data you want to pull out from P6 database.

Adrianne;

Missed the resource filter. Will look for it. If I cannot find it, I will send you a screen shot. Am I using the latest version (Nov 19)?

D
D Artagnan 👤 Member for 17 years 9 months

Hi Dennis,

I am not keen with 2010 yet but it’s great to know that my small program works in the new excel version. I have not been able to develop the program as I have been pretty much busy with integrating our project with BIM using Navisworks...also busy looking for a new job.

I will introduce WBS in my next release. However, with regards to resources, I had included it on the other sheet where you filter curves for resources and resource type. Perhaps you can give me an example of data curve that you want.

Cheers!

Adrianne;

Just installed the Office 2010 beta and would like to test the files again. Excel file macros did not work with Excel 2003. Any feedback for Excel 2010?

The files that I have are dated 19Nov09, have there been any updates?

PS: Nicely done. Works in 2010 beta. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but any chance you are working on filters for WBS and/or resources?

This is slick, thanks.

HI Artagnan,

I have set the security to medium when we first open both Access and Excel files.

I’m using Windows XP Pro.

D
D Artagnan 👤 Member for 17 years 9 months

have you set your macro security level to medium? are you running xp or vista or win 7?

A
ahmad rashidi 👤 Member for 22 years

Hi Artagnan,

By the way, the error that I got from Access was;

Arguments:

qTaskSpread_lvl1_append, Datasheet, Edit

Error Number:

2950

Hi Artagnan,

I have installed the files according as per your instruction but still couldn’t get the s-curve generator to work.

I have e-mailed you the screenshot on the errors.

i am sorry mate but i am really clueless about citrix server

A
Abhishek Chhangani 👤 Member for 17 years 8 months

Your file can only be used when SDK is installed. Incase i am using primavera thru citrix server, is there any way to generate s curve from resource loaded schedule. Also, resource loaded means I have used a dummy labor resource for all the activities & thru topdown estimation generated s curve. But this is not the correct method as i keep all activities type as ""task dependent"" & % complete type as "physical". Also, to get quantity liquidation, I have added the scope in the form of material resource hence every time I update, I have to upate quantities as well as physical % complete.

Is there any method to generate reasonably correct s curve while using primavera thru citrix server??

Hi Dears!

Any one please let me know where should I enter BoQ Cost to generate Cash Flow?

A
Athar Hashmi 👤 Member for 17 years 3 months

I want to generate S-curve for the BoQ Cost only. For this i made one resource named ’BOQ’ non labor and assigned to the activity.

I put that activity cost in status tab of activity detail windows in ’non labor cost’ space.

Now when i executing the progress update then the budgeted cost, which i put in ’non labor cost’ space is changed and new cost came which is ’multiplied by 8 x duration’ e.g.

activity cost = 10,000

activity duration = 100d

after updation the activity budgeted cost became

8 x 100 = 800

How to overcome this problem and where should i have to enter the activity’s BOQ cost?

Please...

Dear Artagnan, Thank you so much for sending the files to me.

I am able to connect the access file with the P6 data with SDK,but when I hit Update activities or update resources it gives the error " Action Failed, Error Number 2950, stop all macros" and when I close the dialog box it gives the another box with the message "Properties not found"

what could be the reason?

It looks like that access macro are unable to connect with the excel sheet.

Can any body help me on this issue?

Thanks in advacne.

Hi arnold, i have been generating s curve by assigning weightages to all wbs & activities & allocating a dummy labor resource to all activities. Then with help of top down estimation getting planned units & s curve. Do u have any other correct method of generating s curve?? Pls send me at [email protected]
