Hi Kaide,
You can also update the SQL server that you are using. maybe its using large memory. You can adjust or update it by opening the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express

You can still separate a project - from customers point of view - into several projects with one of those to be a management control project. These projects can be linked the same as you learn for P3.
It will help you to study the document "From P3 to P6" on your Primavera DVD.
The time you indicated is much too long.
Is it from your PC to your PC or is there a server installation?
Terminal server - e.g. Citrix - involved?
Maybe some errors are already within the P3 project which are causing the trouble.
Installation of P6 is ok?
How full is your HDD.
Other processes active on your pc which have conflicts? (Some years ago I had to realize conflicts between P3 and a virus scanner. Only if I stopped this service, P3 worked properly.
Other projects working that slowly?
Good luck!
