It depends. You need to go back to the definition of a crashed schedule (increasing the resources) and check if you can use it to your advantage in the Schedule that you want.

You are correct. The reason the Engineer request a revised schedule is that the approved schedule at the start of the project does not represent the actual work ongoing at site. In most cases, you have a slow progress and the activities start and completion are late.
Therefore, in most cases, the revised schedule will indicate that the project will be completed at a later date.

What exactly is not clear for you. In the "Recovery" Schedule, you want to recover the lost time and maintain the end date. Crashing and Resource Leveling are planning tools to increase the productivity on the project.
Whereas, in the "Revised" schedule, you want to complete the project and the end date is flexible.

Yes and No, as they might ask you to revise the schedule in order to recover.
You have to clear this out considering that when you run or calculate the schedule automatically, it will give you a result that might differ from what as planned. So in order to maintain the same timeframe (as in baseline), you need to do some modifications or revisions.

But what I want to clear out is that If I am asked for a revised schedule the finish date of the project will change and for the recovery it should be the same, right?

Recovery: You would rethink you schedule to come up with new methods to finish on time as much as possible.
Revised: You will revise the schedule so that the new schedule will reflect the actual progress of work at site.

For me, a recovery program means that you may do some modifications but the new program is still aimed on the same or original target, while a revised program may have some changes that affects the whole timeframe or the scope.
