P5 Activity dates - adjust to act like P3 ?

I set everything as told to do so and seems to be OK.
I noticed any successor activity always stats the day at 8.30 instead of a default activity at 8am. problem I think will happen is links all the way down to add up to a whole day - eg 16 activiies stating 30 minutes later the next day. It will knock the scheule out by a day.
This is madness - why cant it just work in days? if you say it is a day then it uses a day and no more or no less?

I guess the problem is that, in your Admin --> Admin Preferences --> Time Periods tab, try to check your Hours/Day, try to change it to 8. Maybe it is 18. Otherwise, there is something wrong with your calendar.
Just try this.

Arnold - afraid I tried this and the duration is incorrect. i have a 7 day a week calendar and have dates as following.
ES 23 Nov EF 16 Dec
origional duration is showing 10 days, clearly it is 23 days between these two dates.

Try to go to Edit --> User Preferences --> Time Units tab, under Units Format, change the "Units of Time" from Day to Hour.
In Durations Format, change the "Units of Time" from Hour to Day.
You can use the default: "Fixed Duration & Units"
