Dear ismail,
I agree with Gary that you need to revise the Program of works because the actual percentage completed is much less than the planned. I am not sure about the sequence of activties that you want to complete in order to deliver the new scope of work.
If the activities are not changed much, I would update the schedule by adding the new scope and shifting the contact end date to the new end date with the approved time extension. Basically this should give you more float to the other activties as well.
With kind regards,
Samer
Ismail,
Since the weightings of all the activities in your original baseline will be lowered, Actual weightages in previous months will be lower than previously reported.
However since the total contract value has increased, the earned value / value of work done should not have changed.
This can require some explanation / education to the client if he sees his overall % complete drop significantly, but thats what happens when you ask for more work to be done in the middle of a contract.
Cheers,
G
Dear Gary,
Thanks for the reply. But please suggest what will happen to the actual weightages.Again i will have to update the schedule but how will i get the actual progress month wise to generate "S" Curve. After making a new schedule i will update and get the overall actual weightage. but what will happen to the actual values in the earlier months.
Please advice
regards,
Ismail
Hi Ismail
Make sure you save the old baseline and start a new file before making any changes.
Best regards

Absolutely you should change the baseline schedule.
Youve changed the scope, and the completion date. The original baseline is useless going forward.
Since the contractor is so far behind plan too, I would hope the revised baseline would also in effect be a recovery schedule.
Since scope has increased, your wieghtages will need to change to reflect this.
Cheers,
G
