Dear Anoon,

For big project, usually you have several contractors or packages working at different sections. Each project will have the following:

Scope,

Time

Cost,

Issues

Delays

Change Order

Resources

and any other specific information that is relevent to each package.

The Construction Manager needs to monitor all the project on a daily basis. The senior management at site will need the Vital Statistics of the project to be monitored on a daily basis in order to determine what is needed to achieve the target datess.

With king regards,

Samer

Hi Carmen,

You can tell your Client (if I may suggest), that everything is important (even the ones you considered minor foundations).

Maybe you can see (in reality) that the same efforts were exhausted to construct your massive foundations and the minor ones (the only difference is the volume).

All of that I supposed can be seen in an A4 size photo.

cheers!

Anoon,

The client does not want an A4 size photo. He wants a brief description of the most important civil construction package.

I have only 5 important massive foundation and the rest can be consider minor or less important foundations.

Samer,

again thanks. Got your template and I will adapt to my project.

Cheers,

Hi Carmen,

I supposed you are working on a massive foundation.

The activities you mentioned can be done at the same time; (piles cutting; excavation; formworks; blinding or lean concrete). So don’t believe if somebody will tell you to use only "FS0"

Your excavation (clean excavation) is to fit you raft foundation. And you might forget waterproofing after you had placed lean concrete?

Yes, you can do the report in one A4. An A4 size photo would be enough to tell you what to do next.

cheers!

Dear Carmen,

I sent you an email for a 1 page proposed summary. This will give you the idea.

I would suggest that you show 4 columns on 1 page. The first colum would be the summary and then one column for each Contractor.

You can show in the boxes, the summary, issues, scope, time, and cost and fill in each box 5-10 line items of specific data that you want to monitor.

With kind regards,

Samer

Rafael/Samer

thanks for the info.

Rafael,

I am reporting civil works which mainly are in the following status:

excavation

cut-off piles

formwork and lean concrete

These 4 activities are being executed in 5 different construction packages.

I want to report in one A4 page, the status of the activities mentioned before.

At the moment, I got a report with so many pages that no one has the time to read.

Thanks again,

Carmen

You might add:

- Permits for Construction and Inspections.

- Make sure to (within Bonds and Insurance Status Log) include all prime and subcontractor’s insurances and workmen’s comp.

- Earned Value or Progress Payment S Curve, after invoicing log.

- Safety, be careful with this issue as too much involvement might get the owner into liability.

- Photos.

Best regards,

Rafael

The status report should address each issue above in addition to list all the following:

2. The following logs:

a. Correspondence sent and received

b. Non Conformance Records Issued

c. Material submittals status Log

d. Shop Drawings status Log
