Why there is ’ symbol exported to excel

Hi Anbin,

I didn’t see anything wrong with the WBS. If you are updating your dates in Excel make sure that WBS Code has not been modified.

WBS Path as well as WBS Name cannot be altered in Excel Sheet.

With regards to date:

12/1/09 is a "Date" format in Excel

40148 is a "Number" format in Excel

Regards,

Arnold

Thanks for the reply,

But I found after typing the date in actual start or actual finsh the format changes to a set of numbers and not displayed in dates.

eg: 12/1/09 after changing to text I got 40148.

so I put (’) symbol infront of it and imported back.It got imported successfully but some activities are changed from its actual WBS path and got seperated next to main WBS.

With Thanks & Regards,

HI Anbin,

The (’) symbol used to keep a number value in text format.

If you want to modify those dates or text by simply removing the (’) in front of it.

In Excel sheet, just to go to Data --> Text to Columns, select finish.

When done, try to put back the (’) in front of it with the help of ASAP Utilities to maintain the text format. If you don’t have this utilities, you can download it’s free.

Otherwise, right click Format Cells --> Number tab --> select Text and hit OK.

Regards,

Arnold
