Baselines in MSP

In MSP it is just a matter of learning how to format bar styles. You can have bars for anything that has a "from" and "to". You can stack bars in 4 rows and also you can have half-height bars on each row. You could make a big mess of stacked bars so I don’t recommend over-doing it. The Gantt Chart Wizard is just a quick but limited starting point. Format, Bar Styles. Practice. In a copy of one of the built-in views such as the Tracking Gantt.

P6 stores baselines in separate files. MSP stores baselines in same file. No big difference in this respect.

In fact MSP can show 7 different Baseline at sametime without overlap.

Vinay,

you should use the view "Tracking Gantt" to see baseline bars on your screen.

the "baseline" displayed on this Gantt is the "Initial Baseline"

After you define your baselines you can set them to be shown by defining your bar styles. The following link will show you a simple screen view of how it is done, the details are up to you.
