try to do a little search on this website on how to delete predecessor in P3... Im sure you will be able to find what you are looking for..
Sounds like it is a standard finish-start relationship, and the predeccessor has not yet been completed?
If so, the reason the project completion is brought forward is because P3 is assuming the relationship rule should still apply (ie sucessor cannot be completed until finish date of predecessor plus original duration of successor plus lag), even though the activities have occured out of sequence. Once you delete the predeccessor, the successor is no longer constrained in that fashion.
You can change this assumption by going to schedule options, and selecting progress overide rather than reatined logic. This will have the same affect as deleting the predecessor without actually having to delete it.
Ultimately, you need to be sure which situation (the earlier or later project completion) more accurately reflects reality on site and act accordingly.
If you do start deleting predeccessors and/or switching between retained logic & progress overide, I would suggest keeping detailed notes of when & why you did it, in case it comes up in future EOT / LD discussions
When I delete the predecessors the completion of the project become much earlier.

yes you can delete it, but you risk losing the logical sequence of tasks.
