Hello Carmen,

Your post was some time ago, but hope you are still active.

I would be very imterested in receiving the scheduling information you have for the feasibility study as an example.

I am looking at the possibility of working on a coal fired power station feasibility study.

Hi Andrew,

May be I am late with this response. Your feasibility study schedule was requested for 04 or 05 June.

I have been involved in a feasibility study for a NH3 (Ammonia) and AN (Ammonium nitrate) plant in South America.

Let me know whether you might need my schedule as an example to follow or not to follow.

Please love your JOB because at least you have a job in this project crisis.

Regards,

carmen

Hi Andrew

Never done a power station before - let alone a coal fired one.

I am assuming that the contruction process is only a minor part of the study.

The usual logistics for a power staion are usually:

1. Good transport links for the fuel

2. Adequate water supply

3. Links to the supply grid.

Nowadays you must also consider sulfur and carbon scrubbers which are very costly.

Another fashionable feature is use of the waste heat - for every 3 tons of coal used 1 goes to power the other 2 are wasted - for use in the local community - there is even a system that will turn heat into air conditioning.

I am sure you will get more expert advice - good luck with the project - you have the whole weekend in front of you.

Best regards

Mike Testro
