Did you check for the durations of resouce assignments?
By the way: View "Projects" check if under Tab "Resources" the parameter "Drive activity dates by default" should be marked. If not, mark it and check in the view "Assignments" for each assignment.
This number of activities shouldn’t be a problem.
Did you check the maximum usage of memory in the Task-Manager? Ask you IT for the charge on you database server.
Good luck!

Thanks Dieter,
Using WBS, it was very easy. (my method was much more complicated and didnt suceed. what ive learned from this , always think simple.)
And yes, i tried after i divide the project still same error.
By the way,
My PC is 2G-duo with 2GB ram.
-We use a server based p6 with 3 licences.
-Whole database is now consisted of 32.000 activities. And it will get even larger. (We plan to finish all schedules reaching total 70.000 activities.)
-We dont use any additonal programming.
-total duration of this project is 1198 days. (ive actuals, project started in Aug 08 )
I think its time to consult IT department..
Thanks again.

To divide a project is rather easy.
You’ll create the second project. Then in the view "WBS" you can easily move WBS-nodes to the new project.
But this can’t be the reason: The quantities you indicated should easily be handled by a normal PC with 2G main with adequate virtual memory, for a stand-alone installation.
Which technical conditions has your equipment:
- Stand-alone or server?
- Size (no. of activities) of the whole database?
- Was there any additional programming - e.g. interface to SAP?
- Check the duration of your project and of your resource assignments
The error message is a technical one which was caused by errors. Even with a divided project you’ll probably run into the same situation.
