Did you try an independent tool such as schedule cracker (www.schedulecracker.com)? It does the job with very nice reports and lots of features such as DCMA, GAO, EVM, analysis, comaprison, and even trend. Moreover, it detects anomalies in the schedule and sort problematic activities for you. They offer it for free 14 day full functional trial.
I might have a change of plan here, but it concerns a piece of software that I dont know.
Do you have any experience of the new Claim Digger that is embedded within Primavera?
Im sure Ive seen (in fact, am currently looking at) Claim Digger output reports in MS Excel format and they look a lot cleaner and more detailed than Investigator.
I was under the impression that all Claim Digger did, was follow the critical asterisk on the PE & SE pop-up boxes, performing a basic trace of criticallity, does that function still exist?
I may appear to be mean spirited but the system I use has been developed over the years in my practice in delay analysis.
I do intend to market the copyright as a pension boost.
Meanwhile you have given me an idea.
If you can let me have your events schedule in an excell format that I provide and an excell extract copy of your baseline programme - start date - finish date - total float then I will pass it through my Lotus based system and send it back in Excell.
Cost about £50.00.
It will tell you which of the events in your list will have the potential to affect the critical path.
If you would like a free first run then contact me at:
If it seems to good to be true then it probably is.
I have developed a system - based on lotus 123 - that reduces am events schedule of say 10,000 events down to 120 actual relevant potentially critical events.
I know it works because I use it every day.
Someday I might sell the copyright.
Best regards
Mike Testro
PS. it only works with Lotus - Excell cant do it.

Hi David
Reconsider my softwrae based system.
It lines up the latest impact date of an event with the latest possible start or end date of the impacted activity.
It flags up those events that have the potential to delay the critical path.
The key is the accurate data entry in the excell event database - I can send you a pro forma.
As I said in one analysis it filtered out 120 events from 10,000.
I will do this as a one off loss leader to see if your company may want to take it on.
