Hi Guys,
Getting back to Christian’s original questions is the bubble really about to burst now??? What will happen to hundreds of planners now??
I don’t think the bubble is going to burst, although it is going to lose a lot of air. We can see this from what has happened already, global slowdown, projects scaled back or put on hold, reductions in the workforce. All of which affects planners directly; where projects are scaled back, suspended or cancelled altogether, you don’t need so many people like us to plan them.
Mostly, it’s just a case of doing what everyone else is doing, tighten your belt, grit your teeth and hang on. If you want to pray, go ahead, but remember the old saying God helps those who also help themselves.
Sorry if that seems a bit intense, but it’s something that happened to me in 1991. There was a mini-recession in Britain, not as bad as this one but bad enough for the company I was working for to fold. So I know from fairly bitter experience we will come out of this one and things will get back on track. It may take eighteen months or so but projects will be resumed, new ones commissioned and planners will be in demand.

Charles,
Most of the projects are delayed and due to global crunch projects were put on hold.
So Forensic Planners also losts their jobs.
I know 2 Planners working in forensic claims already felt the shooting pain.
Investors are still waiting the "Yes We Can" moves of US President Obama.
Hope for the best!
For the hundred of planners,
Well
they can make a pardigm shift towards forensic planners professional.
There are lots of projects delayed and surely, with a little imagination, hard work and good luck,
there is no need for the hundreds of planner to be jobless
and of course, prayers to the Almigthy since you cannot do it on your own.
Cheers,
Happy Planning and Scheduling
