I just called a friend of mine using P5..he said that this feature is available in P5 too..

ok, i dont know, but maybe it is disabled somewhere.

For me I only see the RU under the Activity screen (as I have said 3/4 times now). I don’t see any red - is this a new feature of P6.

It is the "small blue man with grey and red histogram behind"

are we talking p5? Where do I find your resource usage profile? Within the "Activity" screen?

I am referring to Resource usage PROFILE not the activity usage.

in this window you will view the usage of each resource accross a project or more than one project, for each resource profile you can view the allocated resource per time unit compared to the limit allowed and any overallocation will be displayed in red.

Which resource usage (RU)? I covered the activity RU in option 1.

>1. Activity (all projects open) Gantt chart with resource usage spreadsheet

No suggestions?

I have 2 best reports but neither are the complete package.

1. Activity (all projects open) Gantt chart with resource usage spreadsheet with fields remaining units and you can see hours per week.

problems:

a - how do I tell what’s overloaded or underloaded? so no colours.

b - cannot add fields like limit and overallocated.

c - cannot copy and paste to excel or export.

2.Use Tracking option - 6 windows though with top right either gantt or spreadsheet and bottom right spreadsheet. Bottom right spreadsheet fields: Available units, limit, overallocated and remaining.

problems:

a - cannot print bottom spreadsheet!

b - cannot export to excel

I maybe missing a trick here but someone must see a big flaw I am making. Is there another way I can see the resource fields (overallocation, limit, etc)? you would have thought they were availble in the activity screen.

Cheers,

Mark
