Good luck.

Alex,

Yes you are right! We can easily Copy & Paste the "RESOURCE ASSIGNMENT" to excel. however, we are talking about the Activity & Resource Usage Spreadsheet according to Mr. Sad’s question.

If there is a way to Export directly to Excel for Activity & Resource Usage without generating Reports then, perhaps you can share to us if HOW to do it? For showing the Values of Curves & Histograms, I think this features is not supported by P6.

Arnold

Dont understand, U can directly copy and paste from the "ASSIGMENT" screen, In addition you can display format / unit ... what ever you like in the scale.

Unless we are using a different software, I believe this is rather simply to do what you are asking for.

Good Luck

Thank you, I have tried but couldnt find the options for displaying values and i thought Primavera should have such obvious features and may be i am missing them.

Thanks

Hi Sad,

You cannot export directly the activity and resource usage spreadsheet to excel without generating reports and you cannot show the values on the curves and histograms.

But how are you supposed to make your performance match what the PM says it is if you don’t export it into excel?

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

Thank you, U r right.

I was wrongly thinking it shall allow only up to 999,999 but we can go up to 99 million, though the project cost is in billions we can just keep at as billion of currency.

It works.

Coming to the question again, can i export the activity and reosurce usage spead sheet directly to excel without going to reports. can we show the values on the curves and histograms??

A

and beside you only have 2 decial points you can display in P6

it becomes pointless to be accurate down to 6 decimal point

Your management team need to be a bean counter to be so accurate.

Well Project Management is never about pin point accuracy, its about how to manage the info to give the best possible outcome

Good Luck

you can divid up to 6 digit

meaning up Divid 1 to 99,999,999

Unless you have 100 million then you should be ok

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

But unfortunately we have quantities and costs in millions so that was not working unless we change the units to million of Cu.m etc.

Hey PPs

Don’t export it out

its very very simple - all you need is some basic maths knowledge

Using the same example

Total plan quantity is says 15,000 m3

then all you need to do is to use

the resource usage profile, resource usage profile option,- Graph, tick the "calculate average" and Divide the total by 150 (% = Accumulated value / 15,000 * 100%) and change the symbol to %

Done

Simple

Not used P6 but you will be able to export reports into .csv format for manipulation.

Use the wizard to edit an existing report.

thank You, can i export the resource usage and activity usage spread sheets directly into excel or csv.

If i can How??

O
Oliver Melling 👤 Member for 19 years 1 month

Export a budgeted units profile to excel, then work out the monthly cumulative as a percentage of the total budget.

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

"I don’t know how long you sat already. "

What does this mean.

The feature i was asking was already in P3 and i have used it a lot for presenting things to higher management who understand percentages.

coming to the calculator can we use the formulas as we use in spread sheets in P6??

I don’t know how long you sat already.

1. m3: Material is a resource. You can enter the budgeted quantity, P6 will then calculate the qty per day based on the duration. For the percentage you can use a UDF and a calculator or Global Change

2. Cash flow is related to money. Price per m3 will give the figure per month to you. For material resources histograms and curves are displayed for costs, not for the physical quantities. It is a requirement for an add-on from some German companies to Primavera.

3. Resources: See resource usage profile or -Spreadsheet

suppose i have 1 million m3 of earthwork (fill) to be executed then i just want to see what percentage of work should i execute each month. same with the cash flow or resources etc.

D
Dieter Wambach 👤 Member for 19 years 5 months

Mouse into the histogram area --> right click --> "Resource Profile Options" --> cumulative --> I assume you mean Budgeted --> select --> "Apply"

You’re welcome!

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

The percentage of Quantities of work to be executed or the percentage distrubution of resource usage.

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

I found the early, late on Resource usage profile but could not find the Perecntage option

S
Satya Narayana 👤 Member for 18 years 1 month

D
