Missing Project ID

u welcome matey,

word of advise,

try not to use numbers as ur PROJECT ID,

or else, when u bring into excel (which is often)

ur 0299 will become ---> "299" (notice the zero is taken out)

as EXCEL is too smart, it assume its a number and so on,

then u will get lost when u need to search for project id of 299 ,,, etc...

maybe called it your initial "FU-0299" or "P0299" etc.... u get the point

i notice something that it shows under column update_user (from do.task, colum Proj_id)as DAMONBG INSTEAD OF ADMIN

D
DANG CORP 👤 Member for 21 years 8 months

go into the task table and remove all tasks that have that PROJECT ID...

what they are saying is: u got a tasks that is attached to that proejct u r trying to remove.

i have tried to delete the row but it keep on letting me change something in dbo.task under column proj_id,

i tried to delete that row containing 0299 but it shows the same

in p6, when u delete a project, it still there.

so since u can open the DB, (good on u)

"project" and "projwbs"

both ok,,, i know, funny design.

that is why p3e is slow sometimes,

go to the project table and projwbs

and look for that project ID and rmeove that ROW...

kool?

hi vu

i have deleted the baseline instead of restoring it, but when i use the ID 0299, it still requires "Unique ID Name", this means i havent solve the problem yet.. the ID still exists in the database, maybe u have other ideas

i was able to open the database and so the ID 0299, whats the next move

D
DANG CORP 👤 Member for 21 years 8 months

open that "X" project first,

then click "project on the menu"

then click MAIN BLINE

then window pop up,

look for "RESTORE"

hi

how can i release the baseline project from the existing project from MAINTAIN BASELINE? i am still new in P6, i saw the file already but dont know how to take it back as part of the project group again, thnx

or another way, if you dont know how to look in DATABASE table is:

open up all the PROJECTS!!!!

and go to maintain baseline, and u will see that,

it has all the baseline list for each proejct,,,

of course,, this will incluse ur missing project too....

"0299"

but the bad thing about this way is,,, PRIMAVERA dont show project ID,, (silly thing) it only shows u PROJECT NAME!!!!

so i hope ur "0299" have a quite unique name matey.

try it out and see how u go,.

--------and what Dieter meant is,,, make sure u r ADMIN super user to make sure u can see all projects... it could be simple as that. :) but i am sure u would of try this already.

Hi Ferdinand,

"in SUMMARY"

-- u get this when that project is a baseline of another project, that u r not aware of....

-- "its funny i know"

this happen to one b4,

if you know about database,

then do this.

========

go into the database table and search for the project ID,

u will notice that, the project "0299" is a baseline of another project,,,,, for example "X"

once u know that the X has a baseline of project "0299"

go into the PRIMAVERA and open up "X"

u will notice that it has a baseline of "0299"

so --what u do now, is RELEASE "0299" as a normal project and bingo, u r done.

-----------------

if you dont know how to view rows in DATABASE

then do this.

---

call up the primavera guys and says, and ask them how to find out which project have this "0299" as a baseline.

then they will go into the database and find out for you.

Thank You Mr Wambach

I have already tried that (Find command) and i have tried many solutions (All default Filter, Layouts, Group/Sort, incl No Group), but i couldnt find any possible solution. Or maybe there is a command to hide or unhide project?

Hi Ferdinand

View "Projects" --> move mouse int column with Project-ID --> "Ctrl"-key together with "F" --> Type "0299" --> the project will be highlighted.

If not, then you have no access rights to this project - sounds strange but might happen. Then you should ask the admin.

Regards

Dieter
