Hi Abhijit,
Thanks for the info.
Cheers,
Kier
dear Kier,
Just i have confirmed with my fellow elect Engg,
These test u can carry out with utility supply or by power supply with batteries.
U can also use Mager testing equipment with rechargeble batteries.
The main purpose of usin these is to have constant supply with out variation in current or voltage.
But preferably dont go for DG supply, as the load on DG is always varying and the resulte u ll get from the test ll not be accurate.
cheers,
Abhi
Yeah,
Becoz we have also got the power supply by the DG.
For checking the continutiy of the cable u can use that.
but for capacity test, once u got the permantant supply u can carry out the test.
Cheers,
Abhi
Hi abhijit,
In trial run is temporary power posibble for testing HV/Lv cables. We dont have permanent power supply on site.
Regards,
kier
Hi Abhijit,Andrew,
thanks a lot
Regards,
kier
dear Kier,
Once the electrical cables arrived in u r store u have to carry out,
1. Continuity test
2. capacity test (for checkin the capacity of the cable Eg if cable is of 30 KVA by applying @ 30% higher current.
3. Visual inspection
After pulling the cable:
1. continuity test again to check whether thr is any damge to the cable
2 Trial run by allowing the current to flow for testing of cable , circuit breakers etc.
cheers
abhi
Kier,
I would imagine that there would be some sort of initial acceptance test that could/would/should be carried out when the cables are received, and also the same or similar test required after backfil, this would confirm nil damage to the cable post installation.
As for the right word for partial testing,
Initial, partial, early, pretest, fred, john, ???????? ;-)
I would ask the test guys or the project engineer to come up with one so they are familiar with it when it comes to doing it.
Andy
Hi Andrew,
Is insulation testing/ continiuty testing done before backfilling of cables. When should it be done.what should be the right word for partial testing and commissioing of section of HV/LV network)
Best regards,
kier
Kier,
I would imagine that you could only conduct continuity testing (bell testing) or insulation testing, possibly some component testing if the system has some self contained subsystems in the component parts, but Im sure you can completley rule out full integration testing. Unless you have some sort of new technology????
