Sue, I owe you chocolate - that worked a treat!
Thanks ever so much...I would NEVER have figured that out on my own.
Regards,
Sarah
If you are looking for a visual effect then there is a possibility by following steps:
1) Create a seperate WBS level where u wish to have the activity titled " bimonthly meetings"
2) create a "Level of Effort" activity called Bi weekly meetings
3) Add milestone activities for all dates you expect meetings to be held & link it suitably to LOE activity.
4) Under bar settings for LOE activity & milestones, Check "show bar when collapsed"
5) Schedule & minimise the WBS.
You should be able to see a long bar with milestones superimposed.
Hope it helps
Sue
Thanks Oliver for the reply.
Ive only done on-the-job training, working from a manual which we happen to have in the office. The programme I am trying to create is only for visual effect, to be included in a bid we are tendering. I was hoping to be able to provide a linear chain of meetings on one line called "bimonthly meetings" rather than a visual staircase of linked meetings. I thought I had seen this effect on other plans, and presumed I could do it in P3E. Apparently not!
Sarah,
Meetings can be planned in 2 ways.
1* With the budget against a Level of Effort activity. This means that when the data date moves along you will automatically claim performance against the budget you set aside for meetings.
2* As meetings are individual tasks, you can insert an activity of 1 day duration (or whatever duration the meeting will be) for each meeting you intend to hold. This will give you a chain of meetings driven by lag relationships (i.e. bi-weekly meetings) or by other activities in the programme. You can also split one activity into sperate parts.
Have you done any formal training on P3e yet?
Oliver
