Limits for Lag

your clients planning engineer is absolutely correct , it is illogical to put any lag unless it is required for a technical reason or its contractors plan to show its crew movement... any way..could u plz let me know in a more transparent manner about ur MEP activities sequences so that i can analyze ur problem in a better shape

Ask the engineers on the project what other activities come before the one you have lagged at 300 days. There will be something later in the programme that will drive out that activity.
