ok this is what i did i entered some names like robert jony mike and samul and then i enter in each name window the resource information his email and so on and in the group field in that window i wrote team1 for example for 2 names lets say jony and robert are in team1
and in the other names i wrote team2 and in the resource sheet view i choosed from the toolbar drop down list in resoure sheet i choosed resource group option and the program classified the names like this team1 and under it he took robert and jony and team2 he took mike and samul so this mean i divided the four person in 2 teams and in the gant chart in order to appear or to choose assing a resource to a task i had to go to press assign resource icon and i checked filter to choose Group... and then i wrote the name of the group lets say team2 and i pressed assign to that task and when i did what u said about pressing right mouse button on the gant chart i had two option in the text tab either to show to the right resource name and if i choosed it i saw the names of the team2 and if i choosed resource group it shows team2 i think this way i divided 4 person in 2 teams and i can now specify to each task its own team i hope im correct :)..........
well it didnt help alot but it showed me something interesting i mean it showed to me that my guessing were correct anyway ill inform you now what i have did so far as i said im new to MS project and im trying to make selfstudy for it thanks anyway for your help ill write now in details what i have done and my vision about it .... thanks alot

I’m not sure if I understand your query completely. Try this…I assumed that you have all the names in groupings as for you example and all your resources are all assign to their task (activity). If you want to display teams name on the Gantt chart all you need to do is change the text display to Resource group instead of Resource name. Right Click your Gantt chart area and select Bar Styles… Select your task and click the Text tab. Select Resource group on the desire location i.e.: Left, Right, Bottom, Top or Inside the bar which ever you want to appear the text.

ok this is what i did excatly:
first: i pressed Assign Resources Icon
and then i entered for example some names in Assign resouces windows
then i started to double click each name i entered to open the resource information windows and i enter in Group field for some names team1 and for other names team2 then i pressed ok and i closed the window then again in assign resource window i checked filter option and i choosed from the list Group... and he asked me about the group name and i wrote team1 and it appeared for me the names of members of this team and vise versa for team2 and i found out i must press shift to choose all the names of this team all i wanna do is to put team1 and the program to understand that this team is containing some people !!!
What is the name of the column in which you are entering Fieldteam 1 Fiedlteam 2 against each resource name?

Which version of MSP are you using: 2000, 2003, 2007?
The version that you are using will depend on what you can do with regard to "grouping" resources into a team. If using MSP 2000, I do not believe that you can "group" a set of resources into a team, and then allocate the "team" to an activity. However, later versions of MSP may be able to do this.

ok i made this
i go to assign resource windows and i enter some names and then in every name i enter in group name field team1 and team2 so i have now two teams and i go to the task name in gant chart and i assign the resource by filtering and i choosed group option and then it appeared for me the members of team1 and if i worte the name of the group team2 appeared to me the names of the members of that team2 and i press shift to select all the names and i pressed assign but it appeared in gant chart near the task bar all the names which is not possible i wanted to appear team1 not to write all the member of this team like x,y,z,g... suppose i have 50 members in this team he will write 50 names in on the chart??!!!!!!!can anybody help
