My point of view:



If you don’t have a basic technical understanding,

you will never become a good planner.

Ref. the discussion on software users / planners.



However, you don’t need to be a technical expert to be a good planner. Our space is somewhree between the bean counters and the production (incl. docs etc.)



Hwo we are closest to depends on the projects size and scope and the setup of the organization.
