Yes, the salary was tax free.
From my expereinced, work days in the private group of companies i worked was generally 48 hours a week at head office in Doha. My previous company adjusted the work hours per day to enable us to work only 5 days a week but the total hours was still 48 hours per week. Eventually, i stayed in the office more than 48 hours per week in view of heavy workload preparing proposal for FEED and EPIC construction projects. There was no compensation in working beyond the normal working hours, however, my previous company gave yearly bonus as consalation for a job well done.
Other companies have different policies. In addition project staff at construction site have different working hours.

TQ Charlie...is this tax free. 6 months continuous working means 5 days/week?

Probalby in the range of 8,000 to 10,000 QR, free accommodation, single status, free transportation from accommodation to work site, 15 days vacation after six months continous work.
Also depends on the company and nationality.
