I am currently the Head of Project Services for the Potash business. I manage a team of sub-functional specialists in estimating, planning and scheduling, cost engineering, project controls and reporting for the projects in this Business.
A certified Construction Engineer and Project Management Professional of over 20 years experince in the Construction Industry
I am an apprentice working in the Project Controls team at National Grid. My programme started in September 2016 and finishes in September 2018. During my apprenticeship I will spend time with all of the teams within Project Controls:
- Estimating
- Planning
- Cost Engineering
- Risk Engineering
- Reporting
- Change team and workbook
-The production of pre-tender cost estimates for electricity transmission projects, with a high focus being applied to transmission via extra high voltage cables
-The production of cost and scheduling models with the use of expert judgement and historic data
-The development of cost estimation models to reduce the resource time required for estimation.
-The identification of the independent variables to which cost is highly sensitive is central to this
-The use of EclipseCS estimating software
Responsible for building individual project plans using Primavera P6, utilising National Grids work breakdown structure. Progressing the programmes each month to ensure they are all monitred for Project Controls reporting. Review contractors tender programmes to ensure they are compliant with the contract data and works information. Implementing approved change requests into the programmes both at development and delivery stages of the programme. Make certain these is alignment between P6 WBS and SAP CBS to allow for accurate earned value reporting.
