Cubic Transportation Systems Ltd. (1998 – 2005)

Employed by Cubic, at Contract Award in September 1998, to work on the Prestige project as part of the TranSys consortium (Cubic, EDS, ICL and WS Atkins). The project involved the design and supply of the ‘Oyster’ contactless smartcard system for London covering tube, trains, buses and trams over a 17-year franchise period. The project was, at the time, the largest PFI contract in the UK transport sector. Responsibilities included:

Planning

Production of project plans in Primavera P6; Initial cost planning including resource and duration, in support of tender submissions.

Production of project plans for project execution and updating existing plans to reflect current project status

Created project plans up to £1.2m over 5 years.

Adapting active programs to ensure key milestones and client KPI’s are achieved.

Scheduling and maintaining programmes for a significant project that is a major contributor to the annual business turnover.

2006 – 2007             Lead Project Planner

Leading a small team of planners providing detailed fully cost loaded programmes to London Underground (LU), for Metronet Rail Limited (MRL). This was as part of the additional works programme based at Derbyshire house.

Project Description

Circa £250m 5 year programme of Anglain Water's most large and complex capital investment projects, including new & upgraded WTW, Upgraded WWTW, New potable mains, and shore repair of existing reservoirs. Projects were managed from concept design through to financial close and benefits realisation, managed under a modified NEC2 contract form.

Role & Responsibilities

Software development, testing and QA. Project and Risk Management. Contract management and procurement. Shareholder and stakeholder communications. Day to day operations management.

Project Manager – EPS 3 (Sellafield) Project

Halcrow’s role on this project was to provide civils & integrated management support to a multi-company project structure reporting to BNFL (Sellafield Sites).

Employed to aid a technical Project Manager on the EPS 3 project to undertake all planning, reporting, earned value & forecasting, costing & invoicing on the Encapsulated Product Store 3 project.

• Contract managing the production of detailed design and build programmes to go into the bid for design & build phase of the power upgrade of the London Underground Sub Surface Lines.
