Project Controls Specialist - Cost Control

Senior Planner with BAM Building Ltd. Dealing with Tender and Contract planning, monitoring and reporting of projects and any issues related to same out of a busy Cork regional office in Ireland. 20 years plus years experience covering most of the construction industry sectors. Self employed to full time roles, with Engineering/Project Management companies to working directly with contractors, both home and internationally.

• In charge of Cost Control, planning and scheduling of the Preliminary Study
• Proposed the Project Coordination Plan
• Defined the Work Breakdown Structure
• Integrated internal, subcontractor and partner’s schedules
• Designed, implemented and issued project status reports to customer

• In charge of Cost Control for the Offshore part of the project’s FEED phase, including the preparation of the Execution phase
• Contributed to the definition of the Cost Breakdown Structure and to cost control procedures
• Contributed to the preparation of the project budget and its subsequent revisions
• Monitored contracts costs (0.1 to 60 MUSD lump sum, reimbursable and target price contracts)
• Reported cost and budget information to Project Management

Project Controls Management for owners team.  Cost management, Planning, Scheduling, Procurement, Administration, Progress Measurements and Earned Value Reporting.

Program scope includes expansion of San Diego Airport Existing Terminal 2 Building, adjacent runway, and a revamped roadway system outside of the terminal on the Airport's west side.

Position of Project Controls Manager - Performed project controls planning, development and management. Tasks included - development of program master schedule, development of schedule work breakdown structure, development of standards, and development of policies and procedures. Interfaced with program management team and consultant design-build team. Managed project controls staff.

Preparation of Project Monthly Reports, Cost Estimates and Forecasts, Cash-flow forecasts, progress payment/variation analysis, accurate allocation and maintenance of costs for company asset register, liaison with construction contractors, vendors and other project department groups, contract administration.

Responsible for the overall implementation and execution of the programme control system for the Project and to actively support GM Planning & Controls.
