Current Role

Programme Controls Manager on £370M Rail Project. Development of master programme addressing detailed design, procurement, construction & commissioning. Cost, resource & quantity loaded. Coordination & interfacing of multiple major work packages. Selection & management of contractors & liaising with stakeholders. Team consists of three project planners, one planning assistant and one document controller.

Project planner for various internal/ external Projects, including launch and recovery systems, pipeline bundles, umbilical installation

Current Role

I have been working as a project planning engineer for dril-quip for over one year now as part of the projects team.

I trained in the projects departement with Doosan Babcock at the Grangemouth refinery. I completed my training early in September 2007.

I am a professor of computer science who has pursued research into automated planning and scheduling since 1989 when I finished my PhD. I work in an academic department and undertake academic research. My research concerns design and implementation of planning algorithms that solve the combinatorial problem of finding activities that convert an initial state into a required goal state.

Before moving to Strathclyde I worked at the University of Durham, and before that at University College London.

Responsible for maintaining and enforcing planning processes and procedures for a Major International Operator. The role covers a variety of skill sets from implementing new planning systems to detailed project planning.



Key Achievements – Project Services:

•     Focal point of the group for all planning, planning software and procedural issues.

•     Successfully upgrading to Primavera 6.2.

•     Responsible for testing of all planning systems on upgrade to Vista.
