1981-1984 Working at the Essochem Fife Ethylene Plant, Mossmorran, Scotland. Working on classified Heaters. Worked up bar chart, progress curves for direct hire labour, together with productivity charts for each discipline.
First use of Computer Software (Artenis v5) to generate and control through Critical Path Analysis (CPA).
Working in Costain’s main office in Manchester on proposal work and attending Tender Clarification/Pre Award meetings.
Torness Nuclear power Station. Working with a team of three planners looking after the main Turbine Hall and Outside Cooling Water Intakes. Defining work areas for cable pulling, glanding and terninations squads.
My duties in this role involve the production of a realistic plan, agreed by both internal and external customers.
To then disseminate and communicate the agreed plan to all relevant areas.
Supporting the execution of the plan by identifying material, allocation of budgets and the detailed scheduling of work orders/packages.
Monitoring and reviewing performance of all relevant areas against the agreed plan. Always maintaining a focus on ‘customer needs’ coupled with a desire to remove non-value-adding activities.
AB RHEAD Consultants – Projects Control Manager.
Carry out detailed review of contractual Programmes. Raise EWN/Mitigation notices based on weekly EVM Reports whilst implementing Project Controls on site. Report to the Board with accurate cost to date and Forecast to complete based on Planned -V- Actual costs.
Visit Clients offices and work with them to integrate SAP with already existing systems. Implementing Pertmaster to configure Risk management into the cost breakdown and Programme build up.
Planning Engineer – Apache Replacement Project
• I joined the Apache Replacement Project at the start of November 2008. The project brief is to de-commission the original Apache Pipe Lay Vessel and install all Pipe Lay equipment on to a new hull currently known as the North Ocean 103 (Apache II).

1. Additional Living Quarters on Elgin Platform : Project worth 35 million GBP which will enhance the bedding facility by additional 41 beds with facility upgrade and taking to platform capacity to 137 beds. Scope of work included Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction and commissioning with overall man-hours to the tune of +300K hrs. Consafe and Enterprise were the major fabricators for the Grillage and the 25 Modules.
