1981-1984 Working at the Essochem Fife Ethylene Plant, Mossmorran, Scotland. Working on classified Heaters. Worked up bar chart, progress curves for direct hire labour, together with productivity charts for each discipline.
First use of Computer Software (Artenis v5) to generate and control through Critical Path Analysis (CPA).
1979-1981 Working at the BP Chemicals A4 Combined Acetic Acid/CO Plant in Hull. Responsible to the senior planner for the planning and scheduling of construction for all disciplines. Conducting ongoing resource analysis of outstanding workload. Co-ordination of instrument/piping construction in the hand over phase. Preparation of progress curves for presentation at weekly progress meetings.
1976-1979 Started as Junior Planner working with the Construction Superintendent at the Charlton Leslie ShipYard, Wallsend on the Chevron Ninian Central Topside Facilities. Monitoring of contractor progress and manpower loading. Assigned to weight control enabling analysis and appraisal of module lifting design to load out onto barges. Promoted to Planning Engineer on the Chevron Ninian Northern Topside Facilities at De Groot Fabrication Yard in Dordrecht, Holland. Responsible to the Construction Manager for the initial pre-planning phase in London Office and then to the construction site for the build and tow-out phases. Responsible for the production of bar charts and progress curves to monitor contractor’s progress. Devising, producing and presenting weekly report for management reviews and updates.
