Project Planning using Plantrac
I worked within Network Management Systems in charge of Project Control and Business Support for the directorate. I controlled a team of 4 Planners who directly reported to me. I worked within the Turkish project team, working towards the delivery of mine hunting sonar equipment for the Turkish Navy. This involved controlling budgets, progress and risk on the Turkey contract to supply Mine detection capability to the Turkish government. This role was very challenging and pressurised and demanded a proactive approach in order to meet contractual obligations and achieve milestones on time and to budget.
My role consisted of developing the processes and procedures needed to facilitate the design, manufacture and initial support (DMIS) for the UK MoD’s 2 new aircraft carriers. This included WBS, OBS & RAM development, implementation of project control systems and standardisation of monthly reporting procedures. Earned Value implementation and schedule development were also key areas that I was involved in. In this role I was responsible for 2 Project Planners as direct reports to myself.
I worked in the Mine Warfare Directorate planning programmes for the Japanese and Korean Governments respectively. I reported to the Programme Management team on contractual progress, including milestone achievement and budget/resource control including forward load analysis using Artemis Views 4. Other duties included; WBS Development/Maintenance, Earned Value reporting, Control account and booking number creation, schedule creation /progression, including critical path analysis.
