value at risk software and risk analysis?

I'm currently learning about var and I'm wondering exactly what part of risk analysis is played by the value at risk software I'm familiar with. How does a software tool contribute to the risk analysis process? Does primavera provide a capability for value at risk? I'm really just learning about this so any help would be nice. Thanks, Stacey

Pertmaster Schedule Warning - Undeflow

Long time since I posted anything on here, but stuck at the moment

Have been carrying out schedule risk analysis on a schedule with multilpe calendars, 5 day, 6 day and weekends only.  Pertmaster runs and shows up an error message stating check Schedule Warnings against activities.

The error message states

"Warning-some activities have tired to be schedule before or after the calendar range.  These tasks have been forced within the calendar range.

Adding risks to summary tasks

The pros and definitely the cons are clear as to use data on summary tasks in schedules. No relationships, resources and so on. But is there anybody out there that could advise me as to use risks on summary tasks, while using Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis (Pertmaster), or not to. There our different opinions within my company with regard to the assignment of risks to summary tasks. All input is greatly appreciated.

For instance; I have Phase A regarding activities 1-5. I have a 10% existence risk with a duration of 10 days. Do I link the risk to my summary?

Please help ASAP:P6 XER Imported in to Pertmaster 8 resulted into different dates

Dear Members,

I have created an XER from my Primavera 6.2 schedule. and imported that into Pertmaster. ersult is I have different completion dates on my project as different dates every where in general. I checked the help on Pertmaster and the only thing I could find was that I have to calculate the schedule prior to XER generation (which I had done) and then generate xer. so this didnt solve my problem.

and also I have checked every start and finsih date in primavera and nothing matches whats in pertmaster.

NEC3 - Compensation Events and Earlier Completion Date

Hello PP members,

I need a little bit of help with understanding how to deal with Compensation Events under the NEC3 ECC (Option B) were the PM is assessing CE's now, knowing that there will be a design change as a result of some post-award value engineering which could reduce the time required for completion.

In this scenario there are legitimate CE's with extensions of time which if implemented with change the Completion Date to approxiametly 2 months later.

However as a result of value engineering by the PM, a substantial time saving can be made by implementing a
