FYI 64-bit Primavera Risk Analysis 8.7sp5

Most of you may know this, but I just stumbled across it today: there is a 64-bit version of PRA that was issued in September (8.7sp5). No problem installing and it seems to be a little faster - need to test it on a plan with Risk Factors, to be sure. Anyway, I thought you should know.

DOs and DON'Ts of PRA

S
S M 👤 Member for 13 years 8 months

I  am in a company that is new to using the PRA tool, despite having used P6 for a few years.

My question(s) is, what must we be aware of and to have performed when taking our P6 plan and importing it into PRA?

I understand that some things have to be removed and modelled perhaps as activities, but what must myself and others carrying this is out keep in mind, and also to watch out for when performing this task?

Myself and the others have had the PRA formal training days but we are interested in the more practical application from experienced users.

Thanks,

How can a Weather Calendar be Assigned to Multiple Tasks at Once? [ID 1277399.1]

What I thought was going to be a trivial exercise is proving to be anything but.  What I wanted to do was model the impact of expected rain days.  Constructing the calendar was relatively easy using average rainfall and subtracting the number of Saturdays in the month in question then ranging the result.  Assigning the calendar was also relatively easy as long as I did it on a single activity.  The problem arises when trying to assign the calendar to multiple activities.

Inspection as a risk

Hi All,

Do you agree that Inspection can cause delay on the completion of activities considering the time of submission and resubmission of RFI's. Also, the time of waiting for the inspectors instead of doing the work continuously.

May I know your opinion.

Thanks and regards,

Dominador Santos

Imoprting MS project 2010 into Primavera Risk Analysis

Hi all,

I have discovered an issue while importing MSP files into PRA.

This arises when the MSP file contains tasks which are already underway i.e started before the import date.

PRA does not carry through this date from project but uses a later date (I think the one the MSP file was created on - also after the tasks which are underway).

THe resulr of all this is theat the finish date are very different between the MSP and PRA files.
