Certification to Choose PMI / AACE

Hi,

I have been in Planning & Costing for 4 years. I do QS also. I would like to go for certification to work with global employers.

I did a small study and compared different institutes and their courses (PMI / AACE / PRINCE2 / IPMA / AIPM).

I filtered PMP & PMI-SP (by PMI) and PSP & CEP ( by AACE).

but the cost involved in maintaing the certification force me to go for only one certification.

Which one should I choose ?

My requirement is

UK planner salary expectations

hi there,

I have been an assistant planner for 3 years now on various main contractor projects from grade ii listed refurbs to 30 storey residential. I am relatively new to the industry being in my mid twenties which has granted me little experience in terms of money. Now that I have been in the industry a while I am wondering how much the average person of my position and level of experience is earning or should earn.?

Some feedback would be great from an experienced planner.

Transition from Maintenance Planning Engineer to EPC Project Planning

Hi,

I am currently working in Upstream Offshore - Oil&Gas Project in India in EPC Planning & Controls.

However I want to know if for a overseas job offer for Maintainence Planning Engineer - Downstream - Petrochemical would be good option ? In terms of long term.  Will I have scope to come back to EPC Planning profile after that or will it be difficult to be recognized in projects again?

Pl do come back.

Rgds,

RD

Poised at foot of the ladder - advice needed if possible...

M
Max Davies 👤 Member for 11 years 11 months

Hi Everyone,

New to this forum and the Planning environment and I am desperate for some advice...

I am 37, started working as a DOcument Controller last June at Olympic Park in Stratfordwith no prior experience within the construction sector in this role (but I have previous in telecoms). I have spoken to a few individuals working for the main contractor all of whom have suggested that if I want to progress (ehich I desperately want to do) then I should aim to become a project planner - trouble is, being at the foot of the ladder, I have NO IDEA where to start!

Beginner to Planning engineer

G
Garen Rexx 👤 Member for 12 years 6 months

Hi

I would like to get some career advice from the forum. I am from ChemEng background, and had worked in a small EPC company as Process Engineer. Recently offered by larger oil and gas company to join their planning department, which I took the offer. I will try to put my questions as constructive as possible:
