Delay Calculation and Resources Availability

Hi,

I had a telephonic interview. The interviewer asked me three questions. I replied all and alhamdulillah he was satisfied, but I want the an experienced reply from you guys, the question were these;

Q1- you have a project of 12 months, at the mid of the project i.e. 6 months you find the project is 2 months behind the schedule. The management asks you to prepare a recovery plan. What you do (the procedure of the recovery plan)

Q2- you have a labor histogram of 0 to 100 labor units. The management restricts you to 50% usage of the available resources.

MySQL management on the cloud?

Hi all, I've recently begun to research the idea of moving our mysql databases to a cloud environment (particularly a sql cloud environment, like this one). So I've had some questions pointed at me, and I still am not sure what to make of this sort of move. Is moving your data from local database to the cloud dangerous (are there any risks you know of)? How does it affect security and auditing? How much of a hassle is the move, and should I move all of the data or only some?

Project Control software

T
Tom Fuller 👤 Member for 14 years 11 months

Morning all,

I have a simple question: In your opinion, which software package best integrates scheduling, costs forecasting, payroll and purchasing? In effect a "Project Control" package instead of simply a scheduling tool.

I'm currently using Prim Contractor to schedule a construction project (about to upgrade to P6) and don't have a lot of experience.

WBS Questions

Hello, I am new to the study of project management and am working on implementing a WBS. IF I understand it correctly, here is one example of phase breakdown for a project:

1. Define

2. Plan

3. Execute

4. Close Out

Questions:

A. I assume that somewhere in #2 the WBS is created?

B. Does the WBS then get listed primarily under #3? In other words, if I were creating a project outline and listing WBS tasks under phases  would it be:

Execute

-WBS Task 1...and so on?

E.O.T approval

Hi all

Actually, we are working on FIDIC YELLOW contract, the contract period was over since 30/06/2011 and we submitted an EOT till 20/010/2012, untill now, the client didnt response to our EOT and my GM refuse to do any work at site untill we have approval on EOT.

90% of work is over, but the client refuse to issue a TOC to us and he is currently use our product. T&C is done and inspected by the engineer.

For issuing a TOC, we need to submit a final account, can i apply for final account while the project in some area not yet finished ?

Quantities & remeasure

I
ian mcbride 👤 Member for 14 years 9 months

We have a re-measure contract, while there is some ambiguity in the measurement rules we have demonstrated that our tender rate was based on the billed quantity. The billed quantity can be clearly demonstrated how it was achieved.

Due to the ambiguity in the measurement rules the main contractor insists on only paying a reduced re-measurement. The ambiguity relates to the starting levels.

However this reduction represents a 42% reduction in the billed quantity and that one item (re-measurement) represents a reduction of 25% of the original contract sum.

T
toh michael 👤 Member for 17 years 2 months

Are we entitle to charge LD to Contractor based on the following :

 - Natural of contract ( Infra structure work - 2.2km of main road , land scape , 2 bridges )

- Contract completion 15 August

- due to employer delay in the negotiation of the Electricity incoming line along main road( by authority)  (3) months extension being granted till 15 November

- activities which will be delayed due to the late negotiation , main road , subgrade, crusherrun , binder and wearing course and some landscaping work along main road.
